    RDCam/Laserwork V8 - Want User Manual ?

    Hi all

I'm new to Laser (built and using CNC router for years)
I've just bought the chineese 50w 30cmx50cm laser machine.

    It came with RDCAM V8
but the manual on disk is V6, the printed one is V3 !

I'm after a copy of the manual for V8, to match the software.

If not .. 1st question, vector cutting
    Double click layer
    set speed and power
    set "cut"
At the bottom is a box to select cut through...

All the above is in the manual

But .. under that check box is another "through cut power" which defaults to 50%

This isn't mentioned in the old manuals, so I'd like to know the effect this variable has on the output cut.

    Thanks in advance
    Rich

Is there any way to import a vector file at the original size it was created?
When I import as a .dxf into RDcam v6 shrinks the vector file to a very small size. I would like to be able to adjust to engraving an image then cutting the outline within the same file. Is that possible?

Is the DXF in inches or MM when I import MM it is the correct size so I always export my drawings as MM

How!? Are your running RDCAM on Ubuntu? Did you use the Stefan Schuermans method?

I'm trying to use Inkscape with RDPlug (the Corel/AI/Cadian/AutoCAD plugin). I've done some research on my GitHub repository here (https://github.com/crushedice2000/RDCAM). However I'm not a expert in reverse engineering. I want to rewrite RDCAM as a GPL project. (without copying RD code, but only rewriting from scratch).

    Hi Rich,
    1. I need to explain what is "through power" firstly. for example, you need to cut 3mm acrylic, but laser can't through the acrylic at the beginning position, (other position is no problem) so you need to increase the starting power, right? so you need to set " through power" and "open delay" this time.
Please tick "laser through mode", then set "through power"(50~90 should be fine), and "open delay"(it means the time stay at the start point).
    2. you can download the manual from our website.
    3. RDWorks support mm or inch now.

hope it is helpful to you.(nuts)
