Thread: Need help with an scm morbidelli author m200 f

I am trying to help out a small wood working shop. They have an scm morbidelli cnc. It has been setting for years unused. The workers that ran it are long gone. Just a few basic manuals. I am trying to use MDI g/m codes. I want to see if the spindle works. I have read some post here about that subject. When I try to use MDI I get nothing. I hit the MDI F6 button. Enter information. Hit the start button. Nothing happens. Have tried hitting the F12 button two times. Turned spindle on, picked direction of spin, put in 2 numbers so will times by 1,000 hit enter, start button. Tried start button on hand held. Tied putting numbers/ m codes in the "MDI controls" box. Any thing I am missing, doing wrong for this model? Any help is appreciated

I am quite familiar with the SCM Morbidelli machines. I do not know all the MDI functions off by heart. Have you tried running any programs? I can send you some basic ones if you don't have any. You can also send me a photo of the screen and control panel as you are trying to run the machine so I can see what is getting the way of it working.

Sorry for the slow reply. Here are some pictures of the cnc

You will need to clear the photocell error first, F10 or reset button and then power up button on the console, should go solid white when powered up.
You will need a tool in the spindle to activate it, suggest a small endmill.
Go to the panelmac MDI tab, F12 button to bring up the spindle options (like you have in the last pic)
Put a value in the RPM box, hit enter, press cycle start button on the tecpad controller (upper RH corner, white S on the button)
Put a value in the rotation direction box, (0 for CW rotation), hit enter, cycle start on the tecpad controller
Spindle will activate.
To stop spindle, press F10 or reset button on console.
